​Choosing the perfect engagement ring is a daunting task. Heirloom diamonds in their original mountings were usually hand crafted and each one so unique!

So, what are the benefits of antique engagement rings?
One of the most incredible things about antique engagement ring is the amazing craftsmanship to create such unique treasures.  Fabrication of these pieces show the makers diligent attention to detail. Today, many jewelers sell what we call "production" pieces where many of the same rings are made over and over again.  We also make custom engagement rings in a similar way to the unique rings of the past with our our full CAD/CAM team.  Often with our custom engagement rings we can create hand-engraved elements with meaningful symbolism just as the antique ones carry.  That being said the intricate work that was done by hand and the hand crafted elements always capture our attention.  
One thing we particularly like about purchasing antique and estate pieces is its environmentally friendly component. Antique materials were mined years ago and do not contribute to some of the mines that occurred years later.  Additionally often times this means that some of these old mines produced gemstones that have not been matched by today's mines with some of the nicest rubies and sapphires as well as other stones of the best quality being exhausted.

Finally, the history!  Sometimes knowing that the materials were handmade, cut by hand, and have had a lot of historical travel can be a major appeal factor!  For example currently (12/16/20) we have a few of the earliest Tiffany and Co rings! How amazing of a treat to own!
