Types of Ring Designs & Styles

Prong
Prong settings allow for maximum exposure of the diamond and minimize the presence of metal. Therefore, allowing more light to enter the diamond, which is known to add to its brilliance.

Bezel
Bezel settings are primarily known for simplicity, as well as durability.  These setting types encase the surrounding outer edge of the diamond in a fine metal frame. These can completely or partially  surround a stone depending on the design of the piece or your preference.  Sometimes, bezel settings can help make a diamond appear larger!

Channel
Channel settings are thought of for their durability. With this setting, gemstones are set into the metal band, creating a “channel” which holds the diamonds.   These channels can also be reinforced with prongs as well for visual appearance if someone wishes.

Bar
Bar settings are characterized by two metal bars that hold a stone in place. The bar setting is known as a sleek and modern look that makes a bold statement. This setting can also showcase the center beautifully.  Featured here the bars are the edges in this tension style setting (see next for tension style).

Tension
​Tension settings are a more modern method of setting a diamond. In tension-set pieces, the diamond is essentially "squeezed" into a small groove that is cut into the mounting hence the name tension setting. We manufacture our pieces using precious metals that are hardened to grip a stone and keep the tension within the metal.

Twist
Twist settings feature designs where the piece is shaped and turned to create a criss-cross or crossover effect. The result is a unique look that is as complex as it is delicate. Featured here is a twist style shank (the ring portion and a four prong head (prong) style setting.

The width of a wedding ring sometimes depends on the width of the band on her engagement ring. Though not always, as many prefer to wear a wider band on another finger.
