CREATED, SYNTHETIC & SIMULATED GEMSTONES

 This Lab Created, Synthetic and Simulated Information Chart serves to explain the difference between the different Man – Made Gemstone materials and terms.  It will help you and / or your staff be technically correct with regard to complete disclosure with your customers and assist in creating more options for price sensitive requests.
* The 3 (Soudee) Doublet, Flame Fusion items are simulated assembled stones.Spinel (Soudee) Doublets are two pieces of Created White Spinel material fused together with the appropriate colored substance.
Flame Fusion is a less expensive and older process for creating materials. Hydro-thermal and the Flux process are relatively newer methods for creating beryl materials. Pulled is a relatively new process for creating corundum and chrysoberyl materials.
Created and Synthetic are synonymous terms representing materials that have the same physical and visual properties as their counterparts. Simulated represents materials that only have the visual properties of their genuine counterparts.
