The quality of the tools of our trade are critically important in working on, and creating the finest jewelry available in the world today.  These tools take knowledge of historical, often times, never mass produced tools, as well as the most modern laser equipment, CAD/CAM modeling software, and 3D printers as well as growing machines.  At Velvet Box Society, this combination of old world charm and modern amenities help us breathe life into our jewels.

Having the tools, and knowing how to use them are two different things.  Our craftsman have a combined totaled experience of over 150 years.   This experience allows us to work with some of the most valuable and rare gemstones on the planet.  It allows us the capability to produce a new concept using our 3D model makers at the same time we are restoring a priceless antique heirloom using antique hand tools custom made specifically for certain applications.  Our extremely vast knowledge base allows us to create by hand some of the worlds finest pieces of jewelry as well as repair with laser technology historical pieces of greatness.

Our knowledge and know how of jewelry and gemstones does not stop there.  Our founder, Brian G.G. is of the highest honors from the worlds foremost authority in gemology, the Gemological Institute of America earning multiple degrees and awards while attending their New York City campus. These include but are not limited to; Graduate Gemologist, Graduate Diamonds, Accredited Jewelry Professional, Graduate Gemstones, Graduate Gemstone Grading, Graduate Diamond Grading and the coveted B.L.A award for Excellence in Gemology. These honors have allowed Brian G.G. to be featured as a special guest lecturer, lead discussions on the state of the industry, lead discussions on treatments and identifying, as well as consulting on very rare gemstones.  He is a published author in the field, and lecturer at multiple museums here in the United States and abroad in Europe.  His passion has lead to a collection of some of the finest and rarest diamonds, colored diamonds, gemstones, and pieces of jewelry that the world has to offer.  His passion for collecting inspired us to form Velvet Box Society.  Here we work to use these pieces of earth to show beauty to the world.

Master Appraisers

Brian G.G. GIA is a professional, independent appraiser of large diamonds, fine jewelry, gemstones, and antique jewelry. He has earned a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America.  He lectures on gemstones, diamonds, investment diamonds, and jewelry.

He specializes in diamond and jewelry appraisals and works with attorneys on estates, trusts, insurance matters, as well as appraisal theories and concepts. He is also an outside expert and consults with numerous galleries and dealers on gemstone identification and valuation.​

Finding treasures is a difficult task.  Imagine wanting to discover something untouched, unworn, and sometimes forgotten about for 100 years.  The ability to secure some of the finest works of art of this century is often a long process.  Sometimes finding the location of these pieces is a  simpler task than making them available.  We take pride in facilitating these transactions and look forward to working with each and every client.
