How to Measure Your Finger Size
How do I find my ring size?
There are many ways to obtain an estimate of your ring size, but some ways are a lot more accurate than others. The best way to get your ring size is with a ring sizer kit from us or from your local jeweler.
However, there are a few other ways you can find out your ring size. Let's take a look at some different ways.
What is the best way to get my ring size?
The very best way to measure your ring size: measure with a Velvet Box Society ring sizing kit.
This is the best way to get your ring size fast and accurately! Our ring sizing kit is a set of measuring rings marked with each ring's size. Our ring sizing kit matches with our master jewelers sizing specifications so there should not be any inaccuracies. Having a solid piece around your finger for measurement would give you the most accurate ring size reading possible vs. actually having a real ring. You may also take our ring sizer to your local jeweler to compare to their rings in person for research if you are deciding whether to purchase online or in person. We will send you a complimentary ring sizing kit upon purchase of whatever ring you choose. One kit is completely free with a purchase of one of our rings.
Measuring Your Ring Size With a Piece of Paper and a Ruler.
Another common option that is used by those that want their ring size fast is to use a regular ruler and a piece of paper wrapped around the finger in which you wish to know the size. This form of measurement is not very accurate and there are many variables to consider. Although this way of measuring is not the most accurate, it does give you a very rough estimate of what your ring size is. This method is not recommended by us, but if this is your best option we will do our best to work with you to get as close as we can to the size you state based on these measurements.
Measuring your Ring Size with a Downloadable Ring Size Guide.
Similar to the above option of measuring your wedding band size with a piece of paper, there are downloadable guides that lets you measure with circular cut outs. Similar to the above paper method, this method is not extremely accurate. It will be difficult to get an accurate ring size using any form of paper measurement, but we will do our best to determine your ring size if this is your only measurement option.
Measuring your Ring Size with a String and a Ruler.
This method can be used, but is not entirely accurate as most strings are elastic and will stretch giving us an incorrect reading of your actual finger size. When measuring your ring size, you also have to consider the width of the ring that you are looking to purchase. Strings do not offer any insight into this aspect of ring measurement. Though we will do our best if this is the only measurement you can get for us.
Measuring your Ring Size with a Ring Sizer From a Local Jeweler.
This is one of the preferred options to obtain your size correctly and accurately. There should be a jeweler close to you that can measure your ring size for free or for a nominal fee.
Velvet Box Society understands that the look and design of the ring you purchase is extremely important. An often overlooked aspect of ordering rings is getting an accurate measurement. If you are dissatisfied with the sizing of your ring after all these suggestions, we will do our best to work with you to size it to get it right.
