First of all we do sell, and ship small jars of jewelry cleaner which work extremely well!
That being said if you are looking for a quick, simple, and easy way to make jewelry cleaner at home here is one way to do it.
NOTE: CERTAIN ORGANIC GEMSTONES, (PEARLS, CORAL, OPAL ETC) SHOULD NOT BE LEFT IN OR SOAKED IN THIS CLEANER, additionally enamel's paints, jewelry with mechanical parts, watches and many other items should not be put in this cleaner.  Use at your own risk.

It is a pretty simple and easy recipe to help do a general cleaning of your jewelry or engagement ring.

Things needed:
  • Shot glass (or small dish, jar, tray to have the cleaner in
  • Green Mr. clean non scented
  • a toothbrush you will never use again

  1. Pick up Mr. Clean from a local supermarket as this will be the active ingredient in your homemade solution. USE ONLY THE GREEN COLOR NON SCENTED MR CLEAN- NO OTHER MR CLEAN
  2. Grab a shot glass or other type of small glass, tray, or bin that your pieces will fit in
  3. Fill the shot-glass HALF FULL with Mr. Clean.  BEFORE putting any jewelry in Fill the SECOND HALF of the shot glass with hot water from your tap water.
  4. Put the jewelry in, and let it soak for a while 20 minutes should be long enough to do generally a good enough job
  5. Pull out the jewelry and use the toothbrush to give it a quick scrub
  6. Check to make sure all of the stones are tight and safe
  7. Rinse in hot or warm water
  8. Pat dry
  9. Double check for loose stones, and for missing stones
  10. Wear and enjoy; dispose of the old liquids safely

NOTE: We take no responsibility for loss, damage, or health/safety issues for supplying this recipe.  We have found it to be safe and strongly recommend our own jewelry cleaner (as a better and affordable option) however should you be in a pinch and are waiting for your cleaner to arrive we have found this to be successful.  By reading this blog you agree to the above damage and loss waiver and will not hold Timberbrook Capital (Velvet Box Society) liable.  You are agreeing to use this at your own risk.
