Robert Indiana
Robert Indiana was born Robert Clark on September 13, 1928 in New Castle, Indiana. He began his art career and moved to New York City eventually becoming an American artist associated with the pop art movement. His "LOVE" print, first created for the Museum of Modern Art's Christmas card in 1965 created a frenzy with his work. This lead to his 1970 Love sculpture and finally to the widely distributed 1973 United States Postal Service "LOVE" stamp. Though his primary medium was paper (silk screen) he also created in Cor-ten steel, and some jewelry in gold. He passed away on May 19, 2018
