Jean Vitau
Jean Vitau was born in France and immigrated to New York carrying three eternity band samples with him. These bands were new the the States and were bar-style set. The design captivated the attention of many jewelers as well as consumers who commissioned pieces almost instantly. The business grew dramatically and he trademarked the design naming it the "Gemlok setting". Jean's craftmanship showed in each piece and the company continued to expand becoming a sub-contractor to Tiffany & Co. His designs became so popular they were considered a top seller for many years. His design and setting work became the cornerstone of his business he established under the name of Gemveto. As his company caught of with production they began to expand into other product lines such as custom bands and various other designs as well as working in mediums of 18 karat gold and platinum.
