Gudny Margrethe Dybwad was born in 1903 the daughter of Peter and Susanne Dykwad in Leipzig, Germany. She began her career interested in design, just as her father, the architect, yet continued the design aspects in jewelry. She studied as a jeweler and eventually moved to Berlin in 1941 where she eventually (in 1943) inherited the house of Ingrid Dybwad. It was here in Berlin she began focusing her career on jewelry during and after the war. Her production peaked sometime after the war and continued until around 1970 or so. She passed a away in 2006.
