Fausto Maria Franchi
Fausto Maria Franchi was born in Rome, Italy on May 9, 1939. Fausto started in jewelry by training with Professors Orlandini and Gerardi at the Artistic Museum of Rome. By the mid 1960's Fausto was showing his works in Italy as well as New York attracting international attention. By 1964 he had been recognized as a first place winner in the National Goldsmith Competition in Rome and with that was showing in New York at his first solo show Creazioni d'argenti bianchi. With the international recognition he began traveling to other places in Europe like Germany, Holland, Hungary, as well as Japan and the US. By the mid 1970s he began to focus more on sculpting and opened a studio in Rome though making jewelry still. By mid 1986, he was creating both jewelry and sculptures, particularly in wood.
