Epos Watches
Epos was founded during a time when mechanical and automatic movements were pushed aside for quartz movements during the quartz crisis in the early 1980s. In 1983 Peter Hofer and his wife Erna founded Montres EPOS SA. Jean Fillon became his son in law and joined the company becoming head watchmaker and is said to be a driving force behind many of EPOS innovations staying with Epos for nearly 20 years and together they worked on keeping the tradition of mechanical watches. In 2002 Ursula Forster and her husband Tamdi Chonge took over as owners and directors. In 2014, their son Singi Chonge assumed responsibility for the company as Chairman of the Board.
