Carl Ballin
Carl Ballin was born sometime around 1750 in Germany and lived until around 1870 or so (records are quite vague). Ballin founded the Ballin jewelery factory with his brother Ludwig-Heinrich Ballin in 1899. The company grew and after conflicts between the brothers Carl decided to found a jewelry store in Stuttgart, Germany. At the time the retail side of the company began to grow and manufacturing probably was still carried out at the original residence in Pforzheim. Carl realized the country was changing just before the war and decided to emigrate to Argentina in 1939. In Argentina he taught others and employed others in the European craftsmanship in jewelry.
