Berlios and Leroy
Mademoiselle Berlioz and Monsieur Leroy founded their business in the 1920’s in Paris.
Their boutique at number 19 rue de la Paix, which lead from the Place Vendome, became of interest for those who were looking for something a little different. They focused on hardstones and used diamonds just as accents. They became increasingly popular during the 1920’s and into the 30’s. The influence of Eastern art and the focus on color helped make their pieces notably them. Symmetrical and geometric their style flowed nicely in the art deco realm. They also designed accessories such as compacts, cigarette cases and lighters. Their pieces sold and by the 1930’s they had boutiques at 7 rue des Capucines as well as La Croisette in Cannes. They even had a boutique at the sea at La Baule on the west coast. The focused on anything that could be used by a lady on the night out on the town even setting diamonds and gems in combs, hair pins and lapel pieces.
