Alpina
In 1883 a group of Alpinist’s began work to make a watch for the outdoors. Their first production included an anti-shock, anti-magnetic, stainless steel & waterproof timepiece which was manufactured in Geneva, Switzerland. The watch was released in 1890. By 1921 Alpina became the official supplier of time instruments for military pilots. The business continued to grow and in 1969 Alpina launched a Diver watches. In 2002 Peter & Aletta Stas purchased the brand and relaunched it. The business grew and by 2009 they had begun to produce more complicated watches such as the tourbillon which was released the same year followed by a world timer in 2012. The brand also began focusing on smart watches in 2015 and looked back at its heritage for releases in 2017 and 2018 in combination with the smart watch approach.
