After attending an event in New York City two weeks ago, I came across a bug pendant! Demantoid garnet, diamond, and rubies circa 1900-1910. During a lecture, I met Marcia who was telling me of her interest and we compared a similar bug at the gallery we were in from $19,500.00 She had asked to photograph my buy and send her some documentation. After review it turns our ours was better quality for 1/3 of the price! Per Marcia " You are a delightful BAD influence !!!"

Tsavorite is a deep vivid green colored garnet. It was discovered in Tsavo National Park, Kenya, in 1967 by Campbell Bridges, and was introduced to the world in the 1970's. Tiffany and Companies Henry Platt was the first to name the stone Tsavorite garnet! Featured here is our discovery of a 2 carat stone! Stones this size are incredibly hard to find.
Pulled from our vault! An 10+ carat Old European cut diamond! Prior to the patenting of the first, steam-driven bruting machine in 1874, diamond cutters took an octahedron--the most common shape for gem diamonds which consists of two four-sided pyramids attached base-to-base--and manually rounded off the corners to create a cushion-shaped stone as round as they could get it. They then faceted the diamond from what was left, creating what today is known as an old mine cut. From there the rounder stones became known as the Old European cut
In the coming weeks we will be updating our website featuring pieces that have been stored in our vault. Some have not been seen in over 40 years :) Stay tuned!
