This is an Incredibly Rare Opal of 9.17 Carats. This unusual opal exhibits as light to dark brown color and patches of phenomenon known as play of color. This particulate example with Play of Color has the ONLY KNOWN Insect Encasement inspected by The Gemological Institute of America. GIA was states the rarity of the stone in a special letter of acknowledgement stating that rarity of this stone as the only known opal examined by GIA with such an inclusion making it a truly rare and 'notable' gemstone according to GIA.
